Maison de Trolls
Welcome to the House of Trolls! Four cyber activists, entrepreneurs and cultural artists invite to an intercontinental conference, of which the goal is the emancipation in the digital world. This invitation takes place while one of the organizers was in danger of losing her life in an attack of internet bots (software which interacts with computer servers) on her household appliances. But don’t commercial structures make research activities in the use of internet impossible – particularly when it comes power gap between the north and the south? What type of subversive resistance will be imaginable ranging from digital mobilization to protest in the so-called real space? And how can we develop new codes and alternative ways to communicate with each other? In reinterpreting certain notions such as the “facebook revolution” or others, this theatrical performance immerses the audience in new modes of programming and conceiving of local or transnational networks.
Creations / Parcours
Tim Zulauf (Zurich)
Born in 1973, Tim Zulauf lives and works in Zurich in Switzerland. Since 2002, he has achieved various theatrical projects with the artists’ network KMUPProduktionen. These projects, which are usually specific and contextual performances, focus on social realities, the changing definition of work towards an immaterialized version, and their interactions with media discourses.
Within this framework, the relocation of the sex workers in Zurich and its media coverage was the theme of the creation called Striche durch Rechnungen (2013/14). Deviare – Vier Agenten – Part of a Movie, Swiss pavilion of the Biennial of Venice 2011 dealt with the discrimination against the beggars in Venice and the anti-gypsyism in Europe. And the piece entitled Pflege und Verpflegung – À bout de soins which was coproduced with the Belluard festival and the Gessnerallee Zurich (2014-16) shed light on the transnational work and migration conditions concerning the elderly care.
For Dream City 2015, the piece La Porte Portable, produced in both Tunisian and French dialect, tackled the subject of the Tuniso-Swiss relations through the “migratory partnership”. This creation was later on adapted in 2016 for the Zürcher theatre Spektakel.
